We went to Bergenhusen today, which is one of the breeding grounds for White Storks. The village is full of thatched roof houses with great nest perches and surrounded by fields and marshes where they can catch the 2 pounds of mice, frogs, and worms that their babies require per day! In a few weeks they will fly as far as South Africa to spend the winter. More photos on my personal page: @dckathleen
